I was watching a movie tonight & my thoughts turned to one of my closest friends, Emily. Last time I enjoyed this particular movie, I was curled up by Emily on a Thursday afternoon in the middle of last semester. We cried & laughed our way through the film & spent a few calm moments together in the midst of wedding plans & papers to be turned in. Funny how a couple months ago can seem so long....But I like to linger over some of my most cherished memories, that of Emmy & me spending long afternoons sobbing over movies.

An Encourager
I was telling someone just the other day that Toto could probably do anything....I secretly believe that he works for the CIA. Mr. Information can tell you about anything, give you a Hawaii surf report, inform you of your own personality, eat your food, bribe you into giving him food and other such necessities, and he manages to know everybody and their mom on campus. But, Mr. Toto is also a big encourager, and a great listener....(Even at 12:35 am....That's when I think he rises up to begin his next CIA agent mission...all this talk about doing security for Papa John's, it's all a coverup.)

The 2 L's
One of my bestest friends, Lacy & I, had a festive gathering last night. $12.50 at Peterbrook (Can we say chocolate?), the Loop, Lacy's driving skills (miss a turn?), interesting, unique people, engaged people, Mary Tyler Moore, my cellphone charger?, cheeseball......
"And obviously you are ponging for Jordan's pinging."LJ
"Why do we sit in this section?" LD
"Bong?"LJ
"I'm standing next to a beanstalk!"LJ
"We split alittle everything." LD

Christmas with the Old People...
So I arrive home--After a long awaited trek through years of traveling from KY, I could not wait to walk into the house, smell the Christmas scents, and take in the familiar home features. But nay! I enter in, and behold, there is a new floor in the den and kitchen, and we have installed a FAKE Christmas tree! I gazed in horror and awe at the sight of the plastic fringes of what not adorning a plastic trunk and absent-mindedly wondered, "It does not smell like a Christmas tree, it smells like plastic!" To which my Mom gushed, "OOOOHHHH Look what I have!" And produced to my horrid countenance a bottle of Christmas tree scented air freshner which she exerted all over the room and up my nose, leaving me with an unsatisfied desire in my heart and itching nostrils....So begins my adventure with my "old parents" who have given in to the cult of fake Christmas trees....Happy week and a half in Florida.

An Attempt at Ice...(in a Lauren fashion)
It is quite amusing to watch a Floridian try to walk on snow & ice. Dr. Almon informed me I made his day when I managed to fall completely on my back & slide down the embankment from the parking lot. Jordan thought it very amusing when I proceeded to stand up, say I was fine, and fall right down again....
(This picture was taken from my dorm, the nice grainy feature would be that of my screen.)
